if you taxed it, $6 billion if you taxed it like alcohol and tobacco. >> absolutely. instead of this being a drain on resources, tax it like anything else and it would be a contribution to our economy. and it's the stabilizing, look, it's not fairly done. look at arrests for marijuana, disproportionately it comes from minority groups. a lot of highly educated, upper income white kids who smoke it. much less likely to get arrested. and a street problem in new york. stop and frisk. it adds a degree of social disorganization and it's an impingement on personal freedom. >> there was a study out of yale which i wanted to get your opinion on. all of the points you make, a lot of people support. if you use cigarettes or marijuana, those are crucial indicators of using harder drugs later on in life. they kind of refer to it as a gateway drug. what do you think about that? >> i guess we would have to outlaw cigarettes. secondly -- >> states will never do that. they need the money too much. >> but that's one of the points i'm making, and okay, we'll keep you from smoking mariju
